Our Opinion
Vonage offers a high-quality, full-featured service with a knowledgeable and easy-to-reach customer service department. Thanks to a powerful advertising campaign, Vonage has been successful in attracting new customers. We like the Vonage service and many of its unique features, such as the availability of area codes in other countries, and we believe it is one of the best available, which is why it has earned our top rating of 5 stars. Although it's not the cheapest provider in our comparison, Vonage still succeeds in offering a very strong service and good value.

Service Description
Vonage, one of the first companies to begin offering VoIP services, boasts the largest subscriber base of all VoIP providers. Plain residential service starts at only $14.99, but includes a modest 500 minutes of calling, both local and long distance (including Canada). The unlimited calling plan costs only $24.99, and of course, all plans include all features including caller ID, call waiting, and voicemail. Vonage is one of the only provider to offer virtual numbers in Canada, Mexico City, and the U.K. Vonage also offers standard 911 service, but you must manually enter your address in Vonage's system, and change it when your location changes. While Vonage doesn?t encourage the use of their hardware to make calls in other countries, it can easily be done.
